About Maitland

Known as the heart of the Yorke Peninsula, Maitland is a rural town and service centre. With a population of 1,029 people, the town has a charming ambience, and is only a 15-minute drive from both the east and west coasts of the Peninsula. Maitland was designed to reflect the layout of Adelaide; as such, there are plenty of parklands, a series of squares, and a wide main street with flower beds and heritage buildings. There are many sporting clubs and community groups in the town, as well as schools, cafes, hotels, a supermarket, library, and bank.
